Story of the Week #10
The Dragon Triangle

Friday June 16th 2023

The ‘Dragon's Triangle’ refers to a maritime region in the Pacific Ocean between the coasts of Japan, the Philippines and Guam. This area is also known as the ‘Devil's Triangle’ or the ‘Pacific Triangle’.

It is associated with numerous stories and legends surrounding the mysterious disappearance of ships and aircraft. It is claimed that ships and planes have disappeared in strange and unexplained circumstances, without a trace.

The disappearances in this area have fuelled speculation about supernatural phenomena, extraterrestrials, magnetic anomalies or unknown ocean currents.

It is important to note, however, that the disappearances reported in the Dragon Triangle are not scientifically proven, and there are many rational explanations for these incidents.

Difficult weather and ocean conditions, strong marine currents and the high density of maritime and air traffic in the region can contribute to accidents and disappearances.

Most scientists believe that the disappearances reported in the Dragon Triangle are more the stuff of myth and legend than reality.

Sensational stories and speculation have often amplified events and created an aura of mystery around the region.

Ultimately, the Dragon's Triangle is a subject that continues to fascinate and arouse public interest because of the many stories and legends associated with its waters. However, it is important to bear in mind that these stories are more folklore than established scientific fact.
