The weather analysis by François Gabart :
D-1: Latest weather files ... Final preparations ... Tomorrow is the D day. There is one day left to prepare the food, clothes, adjust the boats settings. Believe me it's a little more longer than Virtual Regatta ... : )
Our Strategy is practically defined, we know more or less how we will negotiate the Channel. The descent of the Bay of Biscay is still downwind but we will have to play with the ridge of high pressure (anticyclone extension, cf. Picture) that can bring us light wind area... We must stay aware and observe weather forecast maps faxes that are received on board, and maybe sail around this area...
Best regards
François
