The "Vendée Globe 2012-2013" will be virtual !

Taking advantage of the massive success with the 2008-09 Virtual Vendée Globe with more than 340.000 players, Virtual Regatta & SAEM Vendée are proud to join forces again to create the biggest virtual regatta.

During last edition, www.virtualregatta.com generated close to 1 billion pages views, an unbeaten record.

Innovation is the key to the 2012-13 project. To reach the goal of 500,000 players (with an overall capacity of 1M) the game will be available on computers, mobile devices, and tablets and of course available through facebook & Twitter. Game will be published in French, English & Spanish. Another major innovation is the new “Virtual Prologue”. It will allow massive audience to directly compete with Skippers & official Teams in October on an Atlantic race course, from Vendée of course. Numerous innovations will be offered such as Iceberg areas, boat sitting and many more…

Virtual Regatta remains simple & accessible to everyone.

Since 2008-09 Vendée, more than 1 million players, from France & other countries, registered on Virtual Regatta, which has become the most powerful nautical website in the whole world. Quickly noticing the power of the game to attract people to sailing world, the French Sailing Federation recognized Virtual Regatta as an official discipline and delivers an award to the French Virtual Sailor each year, here come the full circle! But so much has still to be invented!
