Fresh new member need help! :)

It is my first in this online game, so pardon me for the stupid questions...
I registered yesterday, and althow I sailed about 100 miles, in the ranking section I am scored with 0 miles...
My original starting point was not at the Cape Town, and now I am about 385 miles from Cape Town. What is to be done? Do I have to turn back to Cape Town and start all over again?

There is nothing to worry about, Pisellina, you are doing fine. And there is nothing stupid about your questions.

Because you registered after the start of the race you did not start from Cape Town, but from the position of the so-called pilot boat. It is named Manypilot, and it is used by the organization to "tow" all boats that are registered but not (yet) activated (usually there are quite a lot of those). Any player that decides to take control of his boat after the start, or, like yourself, registers during the race, begins sailing from the pilot boat's position. It follows the main fleet some way behind, at about 2/3 of the total ranking place (I think?)

The distance listed in the ranking section is your distance to the other players. By definition your distance to yourself is always 0 miles.

Correction: it is the difference between your own distance to the goal and the other boat's distance to the finish. In other words, an easy way to see how many miles you are ahead or behind other players.
